We wanted to take a moment—with our first digital update—to celebrate the one-year mark of Upwelling Consulting as a partnership.
On this first anniversary as a partnership, we also reflect on this unprecedented year. We realize the name upwelling couldn’t be more appropriate and that our mission holds true far beyond bringing the best ocean solutions to the surface. We have had to rise up to face a compounding set of challenges: a global health pandemic, Black lives taken unjustly, crashing economies, the undermining of science, record-breaking temperatures, and the faltering of democracy itself.
At Upwelling Consulting, we are committed to applying our lived experiences and our expertise toward making a difference when and how we can. We will continue to rise up against intergenerational and intersectional inequity. We will continue to have the difficult conversations with our families and our colleagues about systemic racism, environmental justice, and the very real impacts of climate change. Though these challenges seem so vast in scale and so indefinite in time, we have an obligation to our children to leave them a better society, a better ocean, a better planet.
